Girls Day Out
Britnie,Spencer, mom and I went to Springville to the
It was so cute. There are so many creative people in this world.
We then went to the Corn Wagon Quilt Co. Oh do they have just the most darling quilting and stitchery ideas and products!
Afterwords we went to a home decor store called THE PORCH ON MAIN in Springville.
It is a really cute old home with 2 stories packed full of unique home decor goods.
I absolutely loved the opportunity to spend the day with my sister, mom and nephew, enjoying what we love to do most.

Relief Society Broadcast
I am so blessed to have had the opportunity to go to the R.S. Broadcast with my sister.
The R.S. presidency talked about how we can do better in attending Relief Society and doing our Visiting Teaching.
As we sang How Firm a Foundation, the last verse touched me in a way that it has never touched me before.
Fear not, I am with thee; oh, be not dismayed,
For I am thy God and will still give thee aid.
I'll strengthen thee, help thee, and cause thee to stand,
up-held by my righteous, up-held by my righteous,
Up-held by my righteous, omnipotent hand.

Once again....
Once again Dave and I tried to go camping. After work I went to my Dads work and traded the car for his truck. Went home and picked up Dave and packed the truck. As we were on State Steeet heading to Timpanogous (Granite Flat Campgrounds), we looked over and saw some dark clouds as they started to roll in pretty fast. By then it was 5pm and we made up our minds to park ourselves at my parents house. We sat on the back patio and set up our dinner which was a dutch oven beef stew and rolls. As we waited for our dinner, Spencer and Britnie came home and helped us set up my parents fire pit. By 7:30 we were starving and our potatoes and carrots were hard as a rock and our rolls were not rising, but we decided to cook the rolls anyways. They were suppose to cook for 15mins but it took 45. If we actually went camping we would have ended up just eating rolls and s'mores for dinner. My sweet mom went inside and cooked us something to eat. Mom, Dave and I sat around the fire and ate dinner and s'mores. We rechecked our beef stew around 9pm and it still wasn't done. By then we were both tired and put the stew in containers to be cook at home the next day.
We now KNOW that if we are going to be going camping for one night we wont be making dutch oven dinners. I will precook our dinner and just warm it over the fire.
Even though we didn't make it into the mountains, tt turned out to be a good fun anyways. It was fun to practice our dutch oven cooking and learning what to do and what not to do.

Oops....
Well, you might be wondering why Stacie always wears her hair up on the right side of her head, like in the photo above. This is really embarrassing, but one morning I believe in May, I was blow drying my hair and smelled something burning so I pulled the brush out of my hair and a huge clump came out. Oh my gosh, I couldn't believe it, I just burnt my hair and now it is 1/2 inch long! It is finally growing back but all it wants to do is stand straight out and I have long strands of hair that is uneven and lays funny. I am sick and tired of having my hair up all the time, Oh how I wish I could just let it down. Maybe in about a month or 2, my hair grows really slow.

Weekend Getaway
On Sunday the 6th, we decided to go camping for the Labor Day long weekend. We left Sunday morning around 11 and headed to Hope campground, but once we arrived all of the campsites were occupied. We went back down the mountain to the other side of Mt. Timpanougos to the Granite Flats Campground. Once again everything was full; just as we had expected but thought we'd keep looking around anyways. We drove around to other camp areas with no luck. We ended up stopping at a picnic area and hung out there for 6 hours. We enjoyed each others company, taking a short walk, reading, all with the sound of the rushing river. Well, we tried to make a dutch oven dinner with corn as the side dish. Well, it was a disaster. The fire pit didn't have any wire racks so we could put food over the fire. Our corn was lukewarm, but we ate it any ways. The dinner on the other hand cooked over 2 hours and it was really runny and the potatoes were has hard as a rock. Not sure what we did wrong since it worked out great the last time we made it. We ended up eating s'mores for dinner and throwing away the other food and packed up, and ended up arriving around 8 pm. I think we learned our lesson: reserve a campground before the big holiday, have a back up dinner plan, make sure we have enough fire wood (if we actually stayed over night we wouldn't have had enough fire wood and paper to get the fire started), and be better prepared with more cookware.
It was a really fun and relaxing Sunday anyway.

Jon Schmidt
On Sat. the 5th, Britnie, Dave, and I went to Jon Schmidt in Concert at the Thanksgiving Point Gardens. It was the best concert I've ever attended. He was hilarious, incredibly entertaining, and an amazing performer. Steven Sharp Nelson's amazing cello along with prerecorded accompaniment left the audience screaming for an encore by the end of the night. I never expected the place to errupt like it did after their performance of Love Story Meets Viva La Vida. Everyone loves the music video and we all sure hope Jon gets the rights from Cold Play so the song will be available again.
Britnie and I came out of the bathrooms and we saw this cool looking bird.

What have we been up to...
I got a second job working at East Shore High School. This school is not a traditional school. It is where teenagers go who were pregnant, trouble teen and students who need to do packets to make up credits. I will be working in their daycare where the oldest kid is 4 years old and we should be having about 5 newborns coming in. I will also be working at Pebbles on Monday Nights and my required weekends.
Dave is going to school full time at UVU to become an accountant and he is also working for his dad from home.
We are both doing well and busy this school year.
