Sick

Thankfully we haven’t been sick this winter until now. Little guy woke up just fine and helped me vacuum the house. Then about 10:30 am he started to complain about his stomach hurting so I rubbed some DigestZen on his belly and put on a movie. I left him there while I went upstairs and got ready for the day.
I came downstairs and he looked worse then before. I felt his head and he was burning. I checked his temperature and it was 102 degrees. I looked up Doterra for fevers and it said to rub Peppermint on the back. I did that, then I looked up the flu, since the night before he was complaining about his feet and legs aching and then he complained about it again.  I had a few of the oils they suggested and rubbed White fir, Rosemary, Lime and Peppermint of equal parts on his feet and back and also put it in the diffuser. Every 4 hours I re-applied the oils and every hour I did the diffuser with the same oils.

He feel asleep after his movie for about an hour and a half. He woke up to a 103 degree fever. As the day progressed and I kept up with the oils and diffuser, I noticed that his fever was gradually going down.

By bed time it was 100 degrees and when he woke about 12 a.m., he was cool to the touch.
Next day he was tired, but he had no fever. I can’t begin to tell you how grateful I am that we got into oils. We use them everyday and they have helped us in so many ways.

CTR 4

Sunday January 4th, you moved up in primary to CTR 4. It is as if you knew that you're big and were moving up.  All year we struggled to have you go into the primary room and sit for Singing and Sharing time, but today you ran in and sat down with your teachers. The same teachers you had last year as well. Brother and Sister Madsen are the best teachers! They really care for you and your class.
My little boy, I love watching you grow and learn new things. Especially about the church. I will always cherish these days.

New Years Resolutions.

I still can’t get over that it’s 2015 already. I am not really all that happy to see what this year will bring. The last couple of years have been hard and frustrating but I have seen small glimmer of hope from our Heavenly Father.  I can only hope this year will bring great news in our lives.
For our New Years Resolutions we are keeping it simple.
Dave and I made a goal to go to the Temple at least once a month. This quote touched our hearts and we know if we go to the house of the Lord our lives will be better.

Last year my goal was to get better with my Nikon Camera. I did take a class and I thoroughly enjoyed it. This year I am going to enhance my photography skills and get to know my camera more by taking a photo a day for a year. It should be a great challenge.

I have had one word weighing heavily on my mind and it’s BELIEVE. This is my word for the year. I will reflect, and strive to do better at that.
The quote  below is exactly what I need through my trails at this time.

Christmas Eve 2014

Then we went over to Nana and Gramps house at 4 pm. You were so excited to play with Spencer. We ate meatballs, brie cheese with red pepper jelly and crackers, and homemade tamales from our neighbor.
Then it was time for you and Spencer to open a present from Nana and Gramps. You were so excited until…

We got home about 8 pm and then you opened a Christmas Book. We have been doing this since you were a 1 year old. I hope to get you a Christmas collection for your own family one day.
