{14 months}

  • You learned to high five
  • Finally have 5 teeth- 3 on the bottom and 2 front teeth
  • You learned how to run and stop in mid run and turn around. This all happened while dad was at work. He came home and asked, “when did he learn how to do that?”
  • You throw tantrums when you don’t get what you want; like my cell phone. When I am on it you will sit and wine or grab my phone. You think it yours.
  • You are uttering your first word approximations, meaning you are using words in context but mispronounce them. -- American Baby

-“Here you go”

-“What you doing?”

-“oh, I did”

- “Olya”

- “What’s that?”

- “I want that”

- “Doggie”

  • You are such a talker, always jabbering away.
  • You really like to keep busy, one of your new things to do is open cabinet doors and pulling everything out as quickly as possible, turning on and off the computer especially while I am in middle of a project.
  • You are very interested in the humidifier. You didn’t know if you should touch it or just stand there and look at it. Once you got used to it, you would stand by it and say, “hot” where the steam comes out.
  • You are waving and clapping
  • On Sundays you flip through the hymn book while we sing and Daddy holds your hand and you lead the music.
  • You are wearing 12 month clothes
  • You are still in size 3 diapers and wearing size 3 shoes.
  • If dad is taking you to bed you will instantly reach out for me to take you to bed. We read a couple of bed time stories, I feed you your bottle and once you are done I hold you in my arms for a few seconds and tell you that dad and I love you and lay you in bed. You usually go to sleep around 8:30pm and sleep through until 8:00am.
  • You get really excited about bath time. You will stop what ever you are doing and head straight to the stairs.
  • When you get tired sometimes you will walk to the bottom of the stairs and stand there. We know that you are ready for bed.
  • T.V. shows you like to watch are Backyardigans and Clifford the Big Red Dog- every time you see a dog you point and say, “doggie”.
  • Someone asked if you are 9 months and walking? I told them you were 13 months and they were amazed. You are small in weight and height for your age.

Your personality is so fun to have in our house. You are always making us laugh and you are constantly teasing us. We love you more than words can say.

O’ Christmas Tree

This year we decided to be brave and decorate the whole tree. Many people suggested that we only decorate half way up, so little hands wouldn’t pull of the ornaments. Blocking the tree with the ottoman worked pretty well and it also kept you from seeing the wrapped presents. By the end of the month you were getting more interested in the tree and started to learn new ways to squeeze your way to get to and pull at the ornaments. Next year we need a new plan, maybe take everyone's advice and only decorate half the tree; or just buy a baby gate to surround it.

{A love of BOOKS}

You sit so still and quietly point, flip, and talk to yourself. I often find you in your room or on the living room floor looking through your books.

It always cracks us up when we are at church because you will take a hymn book and flip through all the pages as we sing.

You like to sit with me on the rocking chair and listen to me read to you at bedtime. I love that you are getting a passion for reading at such a young age.

{Yogurt}

This is my all-time, go to food! When I have tried to give you everything I can think of and you wont touch it, I end up feeding you a whole yogurt container (usually 6 oz.). Your favorite for the longest time was Gerber’s but your taste is changing and you are liking Yoplait with out fruit chunks. If there are any, you are pretty good at sifting through it and only swallowing the yogurt and spitting out the fruit. When you were done, I let you practice feeding yourself with the spoon. You sure had a grand ol'’ time.

{A hillbilly toy}

The hand mixer decided to stop working, you saw it on the counter and had to have it. It got dragged all around the house for a couple of days. Every time you entered the living room, it was the first thing you would go to. What a simple hillbilly toy!

A wonderful Thanksgiving Day

DSC_0274DSC_0276

Since Dave and I been married it’s been a consist battle about which stuffing is better. My family does the southern Corn bread stuffing and Dave's family does the traditional  bread stuffing (Dave isn’t a huge fan of the cornbread stuffing and I like both).  And of course the stuffing taste better in the turkey so, this year we had 2 small turkeys filled with yummy stuffing,. My parents, Brian and cousin Cole came over around 2pm and we “Gobble till we Wobbled.” The dessert was the best part a choice of homemade pumpkin cheesecake or  apple pie. Both to good to pass up!  The rest of the afternoon and evening we enjoyed each others company and watch Transformers 3.

I love that this holiday gives us time to reflect on what we are grateful for and spending quality time with love ones. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

What our Family is Grateful for:

  • A warm house
  • Dave wonderful job so, I can be a stay at home mom
  • Food
  • Clothes
  • A comfy bed and  warm blankets
  • A great working vehicle
  • Good health
  • For the knowledge of the only true church, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints
  • A testimony of our Savior
  •  Families and all they support they give us
  • Modern Advances: Washer and Dryer, Oven, running vehicle,microwave, cell phones so we can stay connected to our love ones from afar.
  • Temples and how we live so close to them
  • The beautiful mountains that we are surround by each day.
  • A happy loving family

{November happenings}

As the ball is moving around and singing to you,  you’ll wave your hand to the music. You got the love of music from mom and dad!

Why do we even by toys for you when you have so much fun pushing and pulling a laundry basket. You are entertained  by it for a  while. Something that you and I have in common is we get frustrated way to easily when things don’t go our way. I’m sorry son, you will learn how to take many deep breaths and not let it brother you.

You are 13 months and you still don’t hold your bottle. You would rather relax and play with your hair. We have tried numerous times to get you to hold it. You are only little once, so we will let you be little.

This past month you learned how to pull out the bins you want since you like to dig your hand around and pull out toy after toy. Once you are done you will look at the mess and put back a couple of toys. You sure love to be clean and tidy!

This mirror sure keeps you busy. You like to sit and look at yourself. At times I have found you even kissing the mirror. I guess you must also think you're ridiculously good looking.

I see a lot of daddy in you!  One Sunday afternoon daddy wasn’t feeling well so you spent a while cuddling with daddy.

DSC_0157DSC_0160

This day you didn’t have any good naps. I went to get dinner and this is what I came home to. Dad said to me I know I would get in trouble for letting him sleep this late but he was so tired. I usually don’t like you to sleep pass 5 pm because you will still go to sleep later.  We ate our dinner then woke you up.

Daddy sure loves buying you toys. He once again proved that he does know what you like. You love to press every button and listen to the music, colors, stories, and numbers.

The reason why you have your toque on is because we were ready to go but we couldn’t get you away from it.

You started to do this silly thing where you pat you cheeks to the music.
