Once again....

Once again Dave and I tried to go camping. After work I went to my Dads work and traded the car for his truck. Went home and picked up Dave and packed the truck. As we were on State Steeet heading to Timpanogous (Granite Flat Campgrounds), we looked over and saw some dark clouds as they started to roll in pretty fast. By then it was 5pm and we made up our minds to park ourselves at my parents house. We sat on the back patio and set up our dinner which was a dutch oven beef stew and rolls. As we waited for our dinner, Spencer and Britnie came home and helped us set up my parents fire pit. By 7:30 we were starving and our potatoes and carrots were hard as a rock and our rolls were not rising, but we decided to cook the rolls anyways. They were suppose to cook for 15mins but it took 45. If we actually went camping we would have ended up just eating rolls and s'mores for dinner. My sweet mom went inside and cooked us something to eat. Mom, Dave and I sat around the fire and ate dinner and s'mores. We rechecked our beef stew around 9pm and it still wasn't done. By then we were both tired and put the stew in containers to be cook at home the next day.
We now KNOW that if we are going to be going camping for one night we wont be making dutch oven dinners. I will precook our dinner and just warm it over the fire.
Even though we didn't make it into the mountains, tt turned out to be a good fun anyways. It was fun to practice our dutch oven cooking and learning what to do and what not to do.
