On February 26th, Hogle Zoo had a free day. As a playgroup we headed to the zoo at 9 am so, we could be there at 10 am. It was super crowed and we couldn’t find a parking spot any where close to the zoo.
I parked about 1/2 mile away in a neighborhood. I went to lock the car and it wouldn’t lock. I didn’t really think anything of it and we started walking up hill to the Zoo. I was over half way when it hit me I didn’t turn off our new Hybrid car {it is a key less entry and the car can detect if the key are in the car. All I have to do is push a button to start.} I called Daddy to see if he could turn off the car with his app and he couldn’t. I started walking faster while praying that it would be there when I got back to it.
I went into the entrance and found some playgroup girls and had them watch you as I ran the 1/2 mile to the car you wanted to come with me but I needed to get to the car as fast as possible. When I left you were crying , I felt so bad. I turned the corner and held my breath hoping for the best, there it was. I couldn’t believe it. Thank heavens I parked in a neighborhood and people might have thought the person who owned the car went inside. I turned off the car and locked it and walk/run back up the hill.
When I got back you were still crying and weren’t to happy. I was exhausted and we hadn’t even begin. I was able to calm you down and off we went to have some fun.
Frist stop; Birds, Pretending to be an Eagle. Mommy, “I am laying eggs.”
Looking for seals, we couldn’t see any from the top look out so we headed down to the bottom look out.
We were all excited to see a polar bear, Waiting patiently for the polar bear to come out with your playgroup friend Keeli and Thomas. It never ended up coming out of it’s hiding place.
Not quite sure about the bear. The brown bears were very active.
Brown bear Brown Bears what do you see? I see a Ryker boy looking at me.
I asked you what you wanted to see and your response was Mommy, “ I wish I can pet a giraffe. “
Watching the Giraffes and eating your nutella sandwich.
On our way out of the Zoo, you and I stopped and watched the elephants do tricks and be fed by the animal keeper.
Our last stop; monkeys.
You feel asleep about 10 min in to our drive and when we got home you were still asleep as I laid you on the couch.
We had such a fun time, the highlight of our trip was hearing a Tiger roar.
I don’t think we will ever go on a free day again. I would rather pay the money and get to enjoy our time with each animal instead of being pushed out of the way. It was still really fun.
