Easter

Easter morning you woke up super excited to see what the bunny brought. We gathered together and knelt down and prayed to remember the true meaning of Easter. After you ran downstairs and stood on the couch with your finger to chin, “hummmm, where could my basket be?” You then jumped off the couch and instantly ran to….

the pile of blankets and ripping the blankets away from your basket. That took all but 1 minute from thinking, to finding your basket. When you were looking through your goodies you told us that the Easter bunny needs to do better at hiding the basket next year.

The Easter bunny sure knows what you like. You got a squid book that you pulled out first and flipped through it then you had us sit on the couch to read it together.

Then you exclaimed, “I can’t believe the Easter bunny got me my favorite octopus shirt! How did he know I wanted it?”

You also couldn’t believe that the bunny would put toys in your basket. (Because we were trying to explain to you Easter isn’t like Christmas where you get lots of toys)
You got R2D2 and CP3O from Star Wars.

Madcat helped out by trying to figure out how to get into your candy bags.

The Easter bunny gave you lots of goodies: Girl Scout cookies: thin mints and vanilla cookies, Golden Dove Bunny, Hershey’s cookies and creme eggs chocolate kisses, Twix eggs, Dove coconut creme eggs, and Cadbury's eggs. You were filled with ‘sugars’ all day.

After church at 4 pm we all gathered at Nana’s and Gramp’s house on a beautiful Easter Sunday to have an Easter Egg hunt for you. Ryker you are so loved.
You were the only Grandchild around so all the eggs were yours. You would run and find an egg then run back to your basket to open it up and check inside.
The first egg you found had jelly beans and with excitement you said, “I can’t believe I got Jelly beans.” You kept doing this until you opened an egg that had money in it which you exclaimed, “I can’t believe the Easter bunny gave me moneys!” Neither could we. None of us got money from the Easter bunny.

The Captain American large egg was your very last egg to find and it was hidden in the mail box.

Afterword's we went inside and ate a delicious dinner of Ham, homemade mustard sauce, company coming potatoes, salad, deviled eggs, and Costco’s Tres Leche cake, We talked and laughed around the kitchen table.
Today we have been reflecting a lot on the resurrection of Christ.  How he gave his life for us so we can  repent and  be forgiven of our sins to be able to return and live with Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father again.
We are so blessed to have the gospel in our lives and to have the Book of Mormon that teaches the simple truths of the Gospel. Jeffery R. Holland said it beautifully;
