Spider Festival

Aunt Britnie called and told us about the Antelope Island Spider Festival. You have been really interested in spiders and we have spent a lot of time on the computer looking at pictures, so we knew we had to go and drove the hour north to Antelope Island.
We explored spiders in cages, went on a spider walk and made a paper spider web.  We also stopped by the visitor center and visited with Aunt Britnie for a little bit while she worked.

Spotting an Orb Weaver Spider.  There was a bunch in that corner we were looking at. We were able to see them up close and personal.

Interesting Facts: Orb Weaver are known for their spiral wheel-shaped web. They only live for one season and die off as winter approaches, leaving their egg sacs behind to hatch next spring.

Antelope Island has the most breath taking views, add both of you and it’s perfect.

On the way home we stopped in Sandy, Utah to eat at the Habit Burger and then we walked over to Scheels where we rode on the Ferris wheel. You and Daddy liked it, but I decided I just can’t do heights any more; especially when they stop to let people on. I will leave that to you two to have fun on it next time.

What a fun adventurous Saturday we had. I loved spending it with the two most important people.
