{13 months}

• 3 days after your birthday you took about 6 steps by yourself from the ottoman to your toy ball. (It was just a fluke because from then on, you would only take a couple of steps at a time and fall.)
• You pull yourself up by using the couch  and let go taking a few steps and fall again. Then you crawl over to the couch and pull yourself up and try again.
• You love to be big and drink out of a cup or a straw with mommy’s help.
• On November 14th you stood up in the middle of the floor and walked with out any help.
• When you hear music you will stop whatever your doing and listen and flap your right hand in the air like your leading the music.
• Words you can say: Oui (our French boy), doyi- doyi,  du (duck) , daddy, yum, and oh ya. We have heard you say, “It’s alright.”
• Words you recognize: shoe, ball, daddy,  mama, truck, car, bottle, dog, door bell (from your play tent), clean up, bath, night night (bedtime),  and food.
• Foods that you are starting to like: Banana (from the jar), Nutri-grain bars, fruit leathers (from Gerber), scramble eggs, you like to try out what we are eating and if you don’t like it you won’t come back for more.
• You started to stick out your tongue. We laugh every time you do this because you have such a long one that it goes down to the bottom of your chin. When you have it out in public people will say," wow, that’s a big tongue!”
• You will stand up, then raise you hands over your head.
• I am so amazed at what you know, I asked you to get your shoes and bring them to me. You went and picked them up and brought them to me.  We have also asked, where's your ball or truck? And you will walk right over to it.
• You are ticklish on your thighs, the bottom of your feet, and your arm pits.
• You still suck your right fingers upside down while your left hand  is  playing with your hair. You normally do this when you are patiently waiting.
• We are trying to teach you how to crawl backwards down the stair, but you will turn forwards and want to walk down. Since you were about 10 months we held you hands and walked you down the stairs. Now we are paying for it because that’s all you want to do.
• You constantly use your right pointer finger for everything. This powerful finger can turn a page, point, and you can get cheerios to stick to it.

I love being your mother and watching you grow and learn something new each day. You bring laughter and a sweet spirit into our home. There is never a night that passes where we don’t thank the Lord for letting us be your parents.
