Another Graduation in the Norcross family. On Saturday May 13th we (Nana, Spencer, you and Me) left at 9 am to Richfield, Utah to pick up Aunt Dede.
We got to her place and let you boys run around and ate lunch. Then off we went for our 10 hour drive to Belen New Mexico. You boys did a great job playing together, watching shows and playing games on the Ipad. We arrive at 10pm that night. We went straight to bed.
On Sunday you boys including Troy and McKinley pop up at 7 am and went outside to play. You guys only came inside to eat.
At 2pm we went to Lisa’s school to have a robe ceremony (it’s where the parents put the robe on the graduate). It was fun to look at all the New Mexicans because they were all dressed in there jeans, huge belt buckles and cowboy boots.
You were so exhausted and feel asleep with your head on my lap and your legs draped over on McKinley through the entire thing. I enjoyed looking at your sweet little sleeping face.
The Graduate. I still can’t believe little Lisa is graduating. It feels like yesterday that she was 7 and pretending she was a cat.
New Mexico is a very dry state. The hot wind always blows and there is really no color there other than green, brown or blue.
That didn’t stop you kids from playing in the water.
Lisa took a few minutes to play Legos with you. I couldn’t believe my eyes how you guys were sitting the exact way. I asked her if she as always sat like that and she said, “Yes, It’s the most comfortable way to sit on the floor.”
Monday during the day we went to Walmart and picked out new fabric for Aunt Pam’s living room and kitchen windows, picked Troy up early from school, played on the trampoline, and went to Troy's baseball game.
Tuesday morning while you guys had all kinds of adventures outside, the adults stayed in and redecorated Uncle Troy and Aunt Pam’s bedroom wall with all of Great Grandpa JR’s leather work and finished the curtains.
That evening at 5 pm it started to rain. The graduation was at 7 and the school was unsure they were going to have it in a tiny gym or brave the rain on the football field. At 7pm when the graduation was suppose to start the rain dead down to a sprinkle and the Graduation was held on the Football field.
The rain continued to sprinkle on and off everyone huddle close together to try to stay warm and dry. It was a wonderful graduation ceremony. We went and hugged Lisa at the end and she crying. We are so proud of her and the great accomplishment of Graduating.
See in three years New Mexico when it’s Gretchen’s turn to Graduate.
