6 Years

Card-Sefcik Wedding 263
I look at this picture and am flooded with memories of this special day. I have loved every minute with you for the last 6 years. At this time we don't know what life will bring, but we were ready to take it on together. This quote says it all, “I love our laughter, our joy, our life.” My love for you has grown so much from the day we first met. I am so in love with you and I can’t wait to celebrate many more with you.

Saturday 23rd, 2012: In the  afternoon we dropped Ryker at my parents house. We drove to SLC and walked around the new City Creek Mall and Desert Book store. At 5pm we ate at the Roof Restaurant over looking the gorgeous Salt Lake Temple. It is so nice to get out just the two of us and spend an evening together.

Sunday 24th, Our anniversary: In the morning I made Dave’s favorite breakfast, German Pancakes with strawberries and homemade whipped cream.  We went to church from 1 – 4pm, came home and ate imperial chicken with cumberland sauce and ate a delicious Butterfinger cake for dessert.(which I also made).  We shared our special day with our sweet little man.

Ryker and I surprised daddy with a Happy Birthday poster on the door and some balloons. We dropped off Ryker to Nana's house while we spent the evening together eating at Red Lobster. We were then off to our favorite cupcake place the Cocoa Bean. We picked up Ryker at my parents house and then headed home to eat our delicious cupcakes (dirty mint and smore) and after we got our little man asleep we watched a movie.
Happy 31st Birthday DAVID!

{Resemblance}

When I saw these pictures of me I insistently saw you in me. You definitely have the Card round head, my nose, round chin and ears. You have dad's eye shape, you also have a mix of both of us in your cheeks, and smile. You are just the perfect mix so that makes you darn cute!

Unthinkable

Oh, my poor finger. I had no idea how I strained it. All I remember is one day it started to swell and I couldn't get my ring off. My only idea might be that I strained it while trying to multi-task holding Ryker, my breast pump with all the attachments, and a bottle. For the next couple of weeks it kept on swelling and my finger started to turn a little purple and started to feel warm. On Monday we headed over to the insta-care to have a doctor look at it and cut my ring off if necessary. The doctor said that getting my ring cut off was on the boarder line. I could still slightly move my ring back and forth. I opted out because he said that it would take 15 minutes to crank it off and it wasn't going to feel pleasant.

A month later my dad looked at my finger and told me that I might want to reconsider getting my finger looked at again. The next day I headed back to Insta-care. I wanted to get my ring cut off because my finger wasn't healing and every time water, soap, or lotion would get under my ring it would sting. My ring was rubbing my finger raw. The doctor wanted to save my finger and ring so he first used a rubber tubing that he would rap around my finger really tight to get the fluid to drain. He did this about 6 times and each time he did it I wanted to cry and my finger would turn blue and cold. After the 6th time he decided that it was best that we sawed my ring off. He used a manual ring cutting tool, outfitted with a high grade blade. The lower jaw of the cutter slides between the ring and finger. The circular saw is turned by the handle to cut through the ring. He sawed at it for 20 minutes or so. It was the most uncomfortable thing, especially when he would slip and pull my finger forward. It was the best feeling when the ring was finally released. I never thought that this would happen in a million years.

Our New Car

Last Saturday we dropped Ryker at my parents house and we headed up to SLC to Strong's Volkswagen to look at cars. We've been needing to get a new vehicle. My little Mitsubishi Lancer was getting to small for our growing family. Ryker's car seat barely fit in the back seat. It didn't have curse control so driving long distances was hard for me. The seats weren't very comfortable and we had over 100,000 thousand miles on it. It was due to break down soon. However, we had it for five years, so it was a sad day when we signed it over to the dealership.
I am going to miss you Mitsubishi, you were my fist BIG purchase. If you could talk you would tell stories of everything we did together. Like, driving extremely well in deep snow, driving to the far end of Spanish Fork 5 days a week to go Nanny, a rock hit & cracked the windshield in a perfect circle while in Montana. Driving to South Provo from North Orem to take Dave to work each day and last driving up to Pleasant Grove each month then each week to my pregnancy appointments. Finally our last trip to SLC to drop you off to the car dealership. I am going to miss you, but it isn't going to last long because I have already fallen in Love with my Used, but New to us, Hyundai Santa Fe Limited.

The new us

eeekk... I went with brown and reddish highlights. What was I thinking, I am still trying to get use to it. I don't think I will do it again, I need my blond, because that's what makes me, me. It was fun to try something new.

Dave also got a haircut and I should never let him go alone because he comes out looking like a "cancer patient". He needs a little more hair on top of his head, THANK HEAVENS his hair grows fast. He knows how much I hate it, so he does it to bug me. I love this boy.:)

Wow, I am....

The BIG 25!
On the Monday night before my birthday, Dave tidied and vacuumed the living room & kitchen. I was so surprised. He says, "since I will not here in the morning to bring you breakfast in bed, I will do this instead." I was so excited because I prefer that over the breakfast in bed.
Tuesday was a wonderful day. I spent the morning with Ryker, then Ryker and I headed to Dave's work to pick him up early and we went to Tucanos. My favorite thing there is the fried bananas. Ryker was a good little boy, he was content with me holding him.
Afterwords, Dave had us do errands, we headed to the post office, Walgreen's to get teething tablets, and to Costco. We finally got home around 6:30 and when I opened the door I noticed that the handle was locked along with the dead bolt. I didn't lock the handle and I was getting scared. Once I was inside I noticed Britnie's purse and Spencer's coat, but all the lights were off and the bathroom door was closed. So, I thought they were in the bathroom and were going to come out any minute. Dave started to push me to the kitchen and right when I turned on the light I got "SURPRISE!" from my family and friends. I was not expecting that, I was just expecting Britnie and Spencer. We had the yummiest dessert, Coconut and Pineapple torte which I had for my last birthday (from Deseret book's Lion House). I enjoyed the rest of the evening visiting with my family, Kris and Chelsey Sorenson, and Audrey Pedderson.

Side note, my mom called me the next day and asked, "did you know that you were 24 on the 24th and 25 on the 25th? It's never going to happen again."
