Today we celebrated America's birthday and our freedom. We are beyond blessed to live in this beautiful country and for all the men and women who served for our freedom.
At 7am we went outside on our lawn to see if we could spot any hot air balloons, but we didn’t see any. I later heard that the wind gust was too strong so they were all on the ground in Provo. We took the morning easy and then I took you to Nana’s house about 10:30am and watched a movie with your cousins Troy and McKinley. Then about 11:30 am Nana, McKinley, Troy, you, and I headed to the Freedom Festival art show and afterword's we were going to walk through all the booths, but we found the Fire Fighters and they were giving tours of a smoke house.
By the time you guys were done it was time to head home. We stopped at McDonald’s and got lunches and lemonades. We dropped of your cousins and Nana and went home to pick up dad. We then headed to American Fork to Dave’s good friend John Gways's home for a BBQ and s’mores. We spent time getting to know the rest of his family and friends. We were there from 2-5 pm.
We came home and gave you a bath and got your pajamas on. We went in the backyard to start our evening of fun off. We played with sparklers and took pictures.
At 6 pm we and Nana and Gramps walked down the street to the Winterton’s house where we had another BBQ and a candy canon. Then we came back to our house with the rest of our neighborhood friends, where we did our little amount of fireworks. I think it’s hilarious that out of all the people who has good eyes, we are letting the legally blind one set them off. He was not harmed.
We were planning on putting you to bed right after, but your friends were passing out glow sticks and you were having so much fun. We decided since we will be in Yellowstone for the 24th this is your only fireworks this year. We ended up watching our neighbors, the Self’s, fireworks with the Rowlins. It was a very late night, but we have to do those once in a while.
We had a very Happy 4th of July.
