After 3 weeks and 3 days we are finally at Dr. Spencer's office to get this cast off. This silly boy said the night before, I don’t want my cast off and for 3 weeks we have been telling him Mommy or Daddy can’t take the cast off, the doctor as to. Now he doesn’t want it off? He was really good at maneuvering his leg, running, and walking. No wonder he didn’t want it off, it was a part of him now.
After 30 minutes they finally got the cast off by cutting down on one side of the cast then the other.
He did really well as they fiddled with the saw, used pliers and scissors to get this stubborn cast off. At one point Ryker lifted his head to see what they were doing. The nurse asked doctor Spencer what the stuffing was because it looks different and he mentioned they don’t use that any more and now they use a more light weight cotton. We all laughed and said only in Canada. At least it was made extra well.
They sent us to American Fork Hospital to get an x-ray. While we waited to be seen he had fun looking at his blue tongue from his sucker through the phone.
Dr. Spencer called and said the x-ray looked really good and the calcium in the crack built up well and the fracture was glowing on the x-ray. He was very pleased about how it is 90% healed. He also mentioned that he would be walking like he still had the cast on for a few days and everything would straighten out. He is Cast Free!
Mom orders, no jumping on the tramp for at least 3 months.
