I have noticed this week that his kicks are getting harder and sharper. He is always having his head pushed up against my belly. It makes my belly all misshaping and where his head is, it's all hard and everywhere else is all squishy. I spend a lot of time with my hand on his head. He is also doing a lot of gymnastics in their. His head will be pushing against my belly on one side then 5-10 minutes later he will be on the other side.
On Saturday, Dave and I took a 6 hour Prenatal Seminar Class. Out of the 11 ladies, I am the only one who raised my hand who will be trying to deliver all natural. But, who knows, I might be getting an epidural to help the pain. This class was extremely helpful and Dave thought the same even though I had to take him kicking and screaming.
We Learned:
* AF Hospital has only a 12% c-section rate. (which means they will work with me and not just run straight into a c-section).
* Signs of contractions
* Breathing techniques during contractions and labor.
* Stages in labor
* Breastfeeding
* Postpartum
* and much much more.
My baby now...
This week, your baby measures over 16 inches long. He weighs about 3.3 pounds (try carrying four navel oranges) and is heading into a growth spurt. He can turn his head from side to side, and his arms, legs, and body are beginning to plump out as needed fat accumulates underneath his skin. He's probably moving a lot, too, so you may have trouble sleeping because your baby's kicks and somersaults keep you up. Take comfort: All this moving is a sign that your baby is active and healthy.
