May 3rd, Dave ran the Thanksgiving half Marathon. His friend and Co-worker Steve ran it with him. They left at 6 am to start the race by 7 am. I got ready and took Ryker to meet Dave at the finish line. It was freezing and pouring rain.
Ryker and I were at the finish line with our umbrella getting soaked while waiting. Ryker needed me so I looked down and a few minutes later Dave called me and said he was done. I was sad because I missed watching him run the finish line because I was helping Ryker. It's the thought that counts.
Dave's Stats:
Ran the race in: 1 hour 40 min and 51 seconds
Placed: 2nd in his age division
Bib number: 38
Words can’t express the pride that I have in my husband. It brings me so much joy watching Dave run each race with everything he got. I love that he decided after 10 years of no running to pick it up and go. I love watching him cross each finish line and this is his first time ever being only Half Crazy.
Dave with Steve. They are cold and tired.
After the race and waiting in the cold rain. We stopped at the Coco Bean a grabbed hot chocolate and cupcakes.
Our next stop was getting real food, Waffle Love. Well just as sugary as the cupcakes. They are delicious.
(One day Dave will take a good picture of us. This picture cracks me up every time I see it.)
Ryker working his photography skills.
After our tummies were full we went home and took a warm bath and rested the rest of the day.
