Summer Fest 2014

I grew up going to the Orem Summer Fest Parade to start the Summer. It usually landed on Aunt Britnie’s birthday and that is what she wanted to do every year. I want to pass this fun tradition to you so we went to the parade. It was a cooler evening witch was really nice instead of frying in the sun.

People are getting even more careless. We have a druggy family next to us that were very rude and obnoxious. They stood right in our way. The parade was going for about 25 minutes when it just stopped. Nothing was moving. We heard from the people behind us that the cannon that goes off at the front of the parade back fired and flames hit a couple of little kids that were helping and were burned. We never did find out if they were okay. The parade started up after waiting for 35 minutes. We watched for another 5 minutes and decided it was 8 pm and we were tired. Plus we had a busy morning watching daddy run the Marathon{more details in the Marathon post}.  You were also having a hard time because when the float people threw candy they would not gently toss it to the crowd they would throw it as hard as they could. You ended up getting hit twice on the head with taffy.  We packed our stuff and headed home.

You are being silly as we waited for the parade to start up again.

What matters most was that we had a fun time with the 3 of us. I hope to be going to this parade for many more years.
